It´s very timely, Paul, and I am thankful for your initiative

I see ONA and Value Network Analysis as one of the main frontiers of KM at this time, besides organizational sensemaking. It´s very valuable to have a place to know and interchange with the people who´ve been experimenting with these concepts, and to get feedback on our own experiences.
In Brazil there are a few practitioners mainly in the academia, and we are striving to bring them to share their experiences through SBGC - Brazilian Society for Knowledge Management .

As much as very I'm interested in ONA through my work with social capital performance consulting, I'm equally interested in the type of community that will form using the Ning social network technology. I've consulted a couple organizations recently on community development issues (both are still in the setup process at this time - one focused on member collaboration and the other on alumni engagement), including the formation of an online community. We looked at many application options for the infrastructure of the community. NING was considered, but both ultimately went with a hosted, private solution called YourMembership.

So I'm looking forward to watching how this community will grow on two levels. I'm also interested in how it will work with the existing ONA-prac group.

In the concept of Organizational Network we have implied knowledge share, strategic operations, modular design, development, management, and collaboration in the organization.

Whenever there are central nucleus and periphery nucleus recognized or documented in the organization, Organizational Network Analysis focuses on effective decisions for social capital.

I put the focus on people, on contexts and on types of communication to design the curriculum (route) for management.

I also have interest in the Ning environment. I study Moodle and WIQiZ and I’ve studied SharePoint to complement the researches in corporation and communities of practice (CoP).

Regarding the presentations of environments in this forum, I felt a need of reports on maps, graphics, and fast look for,...

I agree with Sergio, when he writes that there are few professionals primarily in academia, but he has contributed much to the SBGC in this point.
